Lovecraftian Studies No. 3: Special Dagon
is released the third issue of Lovecraftian Studies, monograph on Dagon, the enigmatic and fundamental story of the writer in Providence.
Third appointment with Lovecraftian Studies, the journal that debuted last summer, amateur and has distinguished itself from the beginning to the very good level of content and actions proposed. This new edition does not disappoint: it is a monograph dedicated to Dagon, a story written in 1917 when for the first time appears the enigmatic creature pisciforme, who was also the first to create this imaginary world made up of places and superhuman beings born the imagination of Lovecraft. Finding new ideas and interpretations to be proposed on "Dagon" was not an easy task, but the goal was, however, pursued by Pietro Guarriello and his companions with his usual skill and safety to which we abituati. - IN DIFESA DEL DIO DEGLI ABISSI: INTRODUZIONE A DAGON , di Pietro Guarriello. La difficile collocazione di Dagon all'interno dell'opera lovecraftiana, insieme ad alcune considerazioni su come Lovecraft ed i suoi critici abbiano affrontato il problema.
- DAGON, O IL NAUFRAGIO NELL'IGNOTO di Massimo Berruti . Dagon come opera seminale per la poetica lovecraftiana, in un approfondito saggio che tenta un'inedita e sorprendente interpretazione semiotica del racconto, in particolare sul significato del naufragio: una "deriva allucinatoria" capace di aprire la coscienza ad una rilettura della realtà. Il testo presentato è apparso sulle autorevoli pagine di Lovecraft Studies, e questa è la sua inedita versione italiana.
-RIFLESSIONI SUL "VERO" DAGON , di Benjamin Szumskyj . Le diverse sfaccettature di Dagon, dalla mitologia delle origini alla sua traslazione letteraria, alla ricerca dell'archetipo che HPL voleva proporre al lettore, per far luce sulla filosofia dello scrittore di Providence.
- L’OMBRA SUL MONOLITO: SPUNTI PER UNA INTERPRETAZIONE DI DAGON , di Stefano Mazza . Una lettura analitica e sociologica di Dagon, per comprendere le pulsioni recondite che hanno portato Lovecraft a scrivere il racconto ed i suoi significati alla luce delle moderne teorie psicanalitiche.
