Studi Lovecraftiani: lo sguardo italiano verso l’Innominabile
È uscito il secondo numero di Studi Lovecraftiani, la nuova rivista di approfondimenti sullo Scrittore di Providence a cura di Pietro Guarriello.
La grande editoria, da diverso tempo a questa parte, seems to show every day more viscous inertia in the initiatives that relate to HP Lovecraft and, more generally, everything revolves around the fantastic genres. In sharp contrast to this negative force, there is a real publishing undergrowth teeming with colorful characters and novelty always ready to bloom: the plot is formed by fans and scholars alike, as it were amateurs, the fantastic view Italian, for that spirit of initiative and expertise brought in the field have little to envy even in comparison to what happens abroad. A clear example of this trend is certainly Lovecraftian Studies, new star in the firmament della critica e della saggistica amatoriali, che ha esordito nell’estate del 2005 con un promettente numero uno e che in questi giorni ci propone la seconda uscita, sempre per i tipi della Dagon Press, sotto la scrupolosa direzione di Pietro Guarriello, un nome ben noto fra i frequentatori dell’universo lovecraftiano, del quale è da anni divulgatore “alto” — verrebbe quasi da chiamarlo un Higher Criticist dell’orrore, se gli amici sherlockiani ce lo permettessero. Guarriello è attivo, fra le altre, su riviste come Yorick e curatore degli interessantissimi (e avventurosissimi) Taccuini, che fanno parte del corteggio cartaceo del Circolo di Lovecraft.Il titolo della neonata rivista non è casuale: si richiama In fact, the legendary Necronomicon Lovecraft Studies published by the American Press and, like these, there is the aim of promoting and deepening the analysis of the issues that revolve around Lovecraft, his creations and his world. The first issue was already rich and engaging, this second release is even more refined and solid in content and confirms the previous high level of Lovecraftian Studies, doing well hope the fans of the writer, who can find a reliable point of reference, as well as an opportunity to meet and work confronto.Gli the second issue, still hot off the press, are:
- The myth of Cthulhu: an approach pragmatic Massimo Berruti . Lengthy investigation that closely examines the semiotics Lovecraftian creations, the contextualized, they expressed the symbolism and the possible different meanings that they have legions of readers. Certainly one of the best essays written on so-called 'Cthulhu Mythos'.
- Tours of Providence Luca Cesare Foffano . Detailed style guide badeker, pleasantly old-fashioned, made a trip to Providence in search of roots, places and Lovecraftian influences.
- Special Dossier: Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos in Japan . A window on a reality away from us in culture, tradizioni e lingua, ma molto vitale e sempre in fermento, nella quale ormai da tempo le creazioni di Lovecraft hanno trovato terreno fertile.
— Chi ha ispirato il Necronomicon? di GianLuca Casseri . Erudito saggio su di una possibile fonte di ispirazione per lo pseudobiblion più famoso del mondo.
Per il tenore medio dei testi, è lecito dunque considerare Studi Lovecraftiani fra le più interessanti riviste letterarie finora apparse in Italia e collocarlo nella storia del Fantastico nostrano insieme a testate del calibro de Il Re in Giallo, Star, La Soglia e Yorick.
